Navarakizhi

“Navarakkizhi” is a therapeutic form of massage in which boiled navara rice is bundled and massaged on the body scientifically. Medicated oil is applied liberally over the patient’s body. Then the body is massaged with small linen bundles of Navara rice boiled in cow’s milk and suitable herbal decoction like kuruntotty kashyam( decoction of Sida cordifolia). The linen bundles are reheated each time by dipping in the mixture of milk and herbal decoction kept over a gentle flame.
