The main aspiration is to promote good health rather than wait to fight disease.

The Hospital complex at Kottakkal has six treatment blocks consisting of 204 accommodation units with a capacity to extend IP services to 300 patients. These blocks consist of spacious and comfortable double rooms and single rooms and wards, all equipped and furnished on modern lines with telephone facilities.

Established in 1954, this Hospital complex is, perhaps, the first of its kind where all the classical Panchakarma and Kerala special therapies were made available to patients in an organised manner under the umbrella of a modern Hospital facility. It started functioning on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Arya Vaidya Sala.

Around 40 expert Ayurvedic Physicians and about 350 therapists who have successfully completed Diploma in Ayurveda Therapy by AVS in association with ASAP, Kerala along with other para medical staff wholeheartedly dedicate their service at this hospital for the wellness and cure through Ayurveda.

It is located in a salubrious environment with a view of the typical Kerala greenery around it. Many celebrities, dignitaries and national and international personalities have stayed at this Hospital to receive genuine classical Ayurveda therapy. Presently, about 30% of the patients coming for solace at this Hospital are from abroad; mostly from the West European, Middle East and North American countries.

Canteen Facility

There are two well-equipped canteens attached to the Hospital, serving pure vegetarian dishes for the benefit of the in-patients. In addition to North Indian and South Indian dishes, Chinese dishes are also served. Special Thali meals designed specially for patients are also available.

Library And Other Facilities

A general library is functioning in the hospital at Kottakkal for the benefit of the patients and bystanders. Its collection includes books of general interest as well as professional literature.
There is a sprawling garden with well-designed pathways located in the Hospital premises. Patients and bystanders can spend their leisure time there.
Yoga sessions are held in the mornings and evenings for the benefit of interested patients or their bystanders. The sessions are conducted by a qualified and experienced Yoga therapist.
Physiotherapy sessions are also provided based on the advice of the treating physician.

Admission Details

As a prerequisite for admission, consultation with a doctor is mandatory. It can be done either in person in any of our Outpatient departments or through the e-consultation facility. Patients should produce id proof while coming for admission. Medical visas is compulsory for foreigners. There is no specific time for check-in but check-out time is 8 am. Apart from personal utility items, the patient should bring the relevant medical records. On arrival, the patient should contact the caretaker on duty or admission desk for admission formalities.

One attendant should stay with the patient throughout the admission period. Extra charges are applicable for more than two occupants in a room. Smoking, use of alcohol and non-vegetarian food is strictly prohibited in the hospital. Personal laundry service on payment is also provided.
